“…whenever any singularly meritorious action is performed, the author of it shall be permitted to wear…the figure of a heart in purple cloth or silk…Not only instances of unusual gallantry, but also of extraordinary fidelity and essential service in any way shall meet with a due reward.”

The P.O.W.E.R. Coalition and I-LEAD are planning a dialogue about community revitalization in Pennsylvania. The goal of this leadership conference is to provide a forum for developing approaches to working for community revitalization despite our many differences, particularly regional or political, which is exemplified by the Red versus Blue label
BEYOND THE RED AND THE BLUE …
America today is locked in a prison of divisions and dualisms that have prevented dialogue, unity, and progress in our communities. Red versus Blue represents the tension between conservative and liberal, rural and urban, rich and poor, Republican and Democrat, private and public, religious and secular, mainstream and minority, and so on.
This conference intends to generate a movement to transcend these divisions and dualisms, and to revive the human spirit of community -- a common unity that emerges out of real difference and plurality; a unity achieved through real dialogue in the pursuit of a deeper and profound understanding and shared vision.
As a community leader, you are invited to join us for the launch of this transforming movement.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This conference is intended for all I-LEAD graduates and current students, and all dedicated community leaders throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware interested in this important work.
LOCATION
The conference will take place amid the springtime bloom on the beautiful campus of the National Christian Conference Center ("NC3"), a retreat center located adjacent to Valley Forge National Park. NC3 provides a perfect site not only for the kind of reflection and dialogue that this special conference requries, but also for the personal renewal that community leaders seek at this time of year.
